Powered by FireStatsStone Forest (Shilin) 【石林】, known since the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 A.D.) as the ‘First Wonder of the World.’ As old local saying goes ‘If you have visited Kunming without seeing the Stone Forest, you have wasted your time.’ Truly, the Stone Forest is one of the most important attractions of Yunnan.

After my conference in Kunming, i joined local trip to visit Dali 【大理】. It is located northwest of the Yunnan province. We took 5 hours bus journey from Kunming. =.=! Dali is an unique place to visit because it has traditionally been settled by the Bai and Yi minorities. It is also the capital of the Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture 【大理白族自治州】.
Early in the morning around 6am, we visited Dali’s Ancient City. The Ancient City is centered around the ancient city of Dali, first built in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
