JinHae – Cherry Blossom Sightseeing
It’s spring~~! Weather is getting warmer and warmer in Korea. Those ‘botak’ trees during winter are now full with leaf and beautiful flowers. One of the beautiful flowers that can be seen in Korea during springtime is Cherry Blossom/Sakura (벚꽃). The scene of tiny cherry blossom petals falling down is quite splendid as they are like snowflakes. Cherry blossoms are in full swing from early April and it last for only few weeks. As a result, we have to choose the right time and the right place to witness this magnificent scene.
So, after some dicussions, We decided to go to the place that presents an astonishing display of springtime glory – JinHae 진해 (鎭海).
Jinhae in Gyeongsangnam-do Province would be the first in Korean people’s mind when they think about cherry blossoms. It would not be too much to say that the Jinhae Cherry Blossom Festival (Jinhae Gunhangje Festival) is the world’s best cherry blossom festival. The festival takes place in Jinhae which is a home to the Korean Navy Forces. Geographical characteristics as a naval port and oceans surrounding the city provide a unique atmosphere to the festival when combined with the splendid cherry blossoms in the city.
Today at 8 am, a group of us (15 people) which comprised of students from China and Malaysia gathered at the entrance of dormitory for this JinHae Trip. Jin Hae is located in another province so we need to take around 1 and the half hour of bus ride which costed at 4300 Won for one way from SaSang Bus Terminal .
“Cut the crap !!”……i know a picture is worth a thousand words. Let’s go~.
Our 1st stop: 제황산공원(帝皇山公園)
We need to climb this 365-stairs in order to reach the JinHae Tower (鎭海塔) on top of the hill.
JinHae Tower (鎭海塔) which was built by Japanese.
Last stair-365. Why 365 stairs? It represents one day one step.
The scenery from JinHae Tower. Those pinky color ‘clouds-alike’ are the cheery blossom trees.
While we were taking photos at the Tower, this little remote-controlled airship caught our attention. It was used to urge citizen to vote on 9 April for National Assembly Election.
